We attended a new venue for show jumping in April, Lardner Park in Warragul. The long established “Farm World” ran a full show jumping program as feature events. The show had a great atmosphere and crowds with a fantastic new arena surface and courses built by Gavin Chester. Kablesse Kavita was 2nd and Fontaine Blue 3rd in Saturdays Future Stars class and Aliyah won the Mini Prix with Michelle and El Nino Vivace in 6th. Sunday saw Fontaine 2nd in the 1.20m and Aliyah 2nd in the Future Stars.
The following Tuesday we made the two day drive to Elysian Fields in QLD for two weeks of jumping at the Aquis Show Jumping Championships. We attended a similar event at Elysian Fields 9 years ago when they last ran show jumping and it was fantastic then and even better now. The grounds are truly beautiful and Michelle Lang-McMahon and her team had thought of everything. The going was perfect with wonderful courses for 8 days of jumping competition. We could not have been happier with all our horses. We asked our young horses to step up and compete in the Bronze Series and Future Stars and Annibell into a very tough Silver field and they all qualified for their finals. Kablesse Kavita was 4th over a tough 3 round Future Stars event finishing as one of only 4 horses to obtain no jumping faults. She also gained a 5th place in one of the Bronze Qualifiers. Cavalli Park Aliyah was 5th in the 1.25m and 11th in the Bronze Final. Cavalli Park Annibell was 5th in a Silver Qualifier and Gleneagles Romeo was equal 1st in the 4 year old qualifier and also 5th in the 1.04m. Michelle and El Nino Vivace also gained 5th in the 1.20m and placed 4th in the Progressive Series Qualifier and 5th in the final.
All these horses have now had their shoes taken off and turned out in the big paddocks for few months spell over winter and we begin bringing into work the young horses for Winter freshman’s and breaking in.
